The Proper Perspective

"One life to live t’will soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

As I thought about this saying, I thought of all the "things" I do as a pastor's wife and home school mom. I mean, there's the laundry, cooking, cleaning, etc.. But, one thing about these is that you do them today, and tomorrow they need to be done again. They are temporal. And then I thought about the ministry, teaching Sunday School, and of course, teaching my children at home. These are the things that have eternal consequences...they last forever.
Now, of course, I must do the temporal things and do them well. But, I cannot allow these temporal duties to distract me from what's truly important...from the things done for Christ.
